I am Back!!

Sorry... Its been a long time since I visit this blog. Life has been quite hectic so I have to be on hiatus for a while. I just realized that being a blogger really requires a lot of time and efforts. Kudos to all bloggers especially those that choose this as a full time career.

FUTURE PLANS

Although I have not updated this blog for months, I still manage to watch a number of interesting dramas during my hiatus. I am still planning on doing my review on past dramas like Fight for My Way, Criminal Minds and Save Me. Hopefully, my review can give a sight on that drama to those who have not watch them.

As for variety shows, there has been quite a few new shows like Ranking Shows, JYP's Party People and a few others that I watched and might do review on them. Speaking of variety shows, I really hope the MBC strike will end soon because it is a pity for viewers. Personally, I think MBC produces the most interesting variety shows among the 3 major public broadcast stations. It has been weeks that shows like Infinity Challenge, I Live Alone and others had been on hiatus.

On the other hand, as an avid fan of Running Man, I think this is a good opportunity for the PD to attract viewers and increase their rating. As many know, RM ratings had decline tremendously for years now. With MBC and KBS strike, the PD really need to use this as a chance to show viewers an improved RM. This past couple of episodes had already shows an increase in ratings for RM with over 8%. Although some might argue that this number still considered as low when compared to competing variety shows, for RM fans this is a really big news. I really hope that wonder RM will make a comeback and enjoy success just like their glory days with a double digit ratings.

Day6 Will Perform On Music Show Again.

DAY6 ON MUSIC SHOW AGAIN!!

This is definitely a great news to all Day6 fans. Finally, we can enjoy Day6 performance on music show!! They will performe starting with M! Countdown on 9^th March 2017. After such a long time since ‘Letting Go’, Day6 has decided to promote their latest March comeback through music programmes.

I hope Day6 will gain more recognition in Korea music industry. This band is so talented. Personally, I believe their main charm is that almost all their members can sing. I think this is rare not only in Korea, but internationally. Usually, a band has a lead vocal and others might be a supporting vocal. However, Day6 is special because four out of five members are the vocals of their band. Even their rappers can sing well!! How charming is that? These good-looking men also plays their own instruments, compose and write their own songs.

Lovelyz is Back with WoW!!

LOVELYZ is back with a new track, WoW!! they are back with their second studio album, "R U Ready?"This eight members girl group is known for their cute-innocent concept with powerful vocal performance. Lovelyz debuted in 2014 with 'Candy Jelly Love', I really anticipate this comeback because I their previous tracks, like Ah Choo and Destiny.

I like Lovelyz because these girls really can sing. They have great vocal and always did amazing live performances. But, they received very little recognition compared to their talents.

TWICE is back! The girls is really popular these days. I started to have interest in Twice because of Gong Seungyeon. I am her fan and later I found out that her sister, Jungyeon was competing in Sixteen to debut as JYP’s new girl group. I never watch that show but I know about their debut. JYP really hit big with Twice because just look at how popular they are now.

Before reading this whole article, please be aware that I am just stating my own opinion and everything is based on my observation as an avid Korean variety shows viewer.

Man domination in Korean entertainment division is definitely not a joke especially as variety shows mc. Usually, every variety show have a number of permanent mc. However, when we look at difference in number between male and female mcs, it is totally unbalance. For example, Running Man, Happy Together and Hello Counselor. Each of these show only have one female member compared to four or five male mc. In fact, there are many shows consists of all male mcs like Infinite Challenge, 1N2D, Knowing Brothers, New Journey to the West and Radio Star.

Top 5 Korean Drama Anticipate Second Season

There are many Korean drama that when it ended, we feel insatiable and need more of it. Sometimes, it is because the drama itself has an interesting storyline. There is also times when the ending is a cliffhanger that it leave us with many unresolved questions. We always hope for a second season, however the possibility of it to happen is very low.

Most of Korean dramas usually do not have a second season. I am not sure why but that is that is a fact. There are many possible reasons. One of it might be because of the drama got low ratings.  The producers will definitely refuse to produce a second season if the first one do not manage to perform well. As for a successful drama, the pressure to achieve the same result might be too much that it is better not to have a second season. Whatever the reason is, here are my picks for Top 5 Korean Dramas I Hope for a Second Season.

Top 5 Shinhwa Title Songs

Shinhwa has been in the kpop industry for 19 years now. Having debuted back in 1998, Shinhwa is indeed a legendary group. Not only because they have been around for a long time but also maintain all six original members and continuously released albums together. Sure, these men has a long career so it makes sense that they have many hit songs. However, it is not easy to remain relevant throughout these 19 years.

Not only that the music trend keep on changing, the number of junior idol groups debuting is also increasing year by year. Instead of sticking on the safe route, Shinhwa choose to keep changing their music style and performance yet maintaining Shinhwa own characteristics. From cutesy concept to manly man, vogue dancing to future bass genre, Shinhwa keep reinventing themselves and producing hit songs that have attract people’s interest in them.

109 Strange Things Episode 1 Recap

A robot comes from the future to protect its owner, basically that is the premise of this web-drama. To be honest, it kind of reminds me of Doraemon (you know the Japanese cartoon, the blue robot cat coming from future to take care of Nobita). I always watched that cartoon when I was a kid. Sometimes, I pretended to have a magic pocket that have futuristic gadgets just like Doraemon. As for KDI-109, I wonder if he has any interesting ability. Maybe his body is equip with many gadgets? Or perhaps he can do multiple tasks?

109 STRANGE THINGS WEB-DRAMA EPISODE 1 RECAP

Shin Ki Won is in an interview session. Although she is still a university student, the interviewers are still looking for candidates with work experience. Plus, being a liberal arts degree student is making it harder for her to land a job. She fails the interview. After she left, the interviewers are complaining for being wasting their time as it was clear that she is not even qualify to be one of the candidate.

'My Only Love Song' : Will The Drama Air This February 2017?

Fans of We Got Married GongLee couple, are you ready to fall in love with Lee Jonghyun and Gong Seungyeon again? The long-awaited My Only Love Song drama airing date might be nearing. Earlier this month, FNC Ad Culture website was updated with two poster for drama My Only Love Song. Although there is no official announcement regarding its airing date, but this update is a positive sign that the drama will finally meet its fans.

Perhaps the idea of witnessing our childhood fantasy such as superpower, mystical ability or futuristic world really happen in real life manage to spark our interest. This is actually important to encourage our society these days to keep fantasizing and dreaming because it might not be impossible to happen. However, we shall not dream and fantasize to have a better life without making any effort because that will be useless.

'Somewhere Between' Is The US Remake For Korean Drama 'God's Gift - 14 Days'

GOD’S GIFT – 14 DAYS U.S. REMAKE

Have you heard the news that back in last December, ABC (not the alphabet but the broadcasting network) gave a 10 episodes straight-to-series order for drama Somewhere Between? So, what does this news has any relevance with my blog since it is a U.S. drama. Actually, it does have something to do with Kdrama topic as the drama will be a remake of God’s Gift-14 Days. I believe many of us Crazy Kdrama fans still remember the series because it was quiet popular back in 2014.

 I wish to make this post as a brief introduction for those who are interested to know about the original drama. But do not worry because I will not explain the storyline in details. Before that, let us go back to the news. If anyone is wondering, what is the meaning of straight-to-series, please let me have the honour to explain to you. Well, it literally means the drama will be made straight into a series without having to make/air a pilot episode first.

This thriller drama with a supernatural twist is being produced by a Canadian production company, Thunderbird Entertainment and aiming to debut this summer 2017. Stephen Tolkin of Legend of the Seeker and Brothers & Sisters is set to be the scriptwriter, and together with Ivan Fecan and Joseph Broido as producers. The shooting is set to be in Vancouver, Canada. No casting has yet been made except for Paula Patton as the lead actress.

Fantasy-romance drama is kind of popular these days. This time there is a little bit of mystery element to it. TvN latest drama, Tomorrow with You allows us to fantasize on the convenience that a person can have with the ability to time travel. Not to be mentioned that it is as easy as taking a subway train ^^. However, will it be a gift or a disaster if a person knows his/her future? Can someone future change if his/her present is being altered?

The drama starts with a scene where Im Yo Hwan beats Alpha Craft in an e-sports game competition. Yoo So Joon (I will refer him as SJ onwards) proud to witness the game on tv while preparing to head out. He wanders on the street, it turns out that today is Dec 2018 so everyone is in Christmas mode. SJ wonders what gift to buy for Se Young’s birthday. He then heads to the subway station. The subway is moving, SJ looks around him and suddenly everything surround him changes. Now, June 2016. Why is he not surprise? SJ narrates:

‘I am a time traveller. I travel to the future on a subway. You may have many questions about your future. But, I decline to answer. I have no interest in other people life.’

Hi Kdrama lovers!!

As all of us are aware, Dokkaebi (or most of us knew it as Goblin) had finished airing 😭😭. I am still searching for a drama that will be worth to watch. Lately, I find myself being attracted to dramas produced by tvN. Most of their dramas had unique plot and less restriction since it is a cable channel. With the success of Dokkaebi, many people have high anticipation on the next drama to take its slot. So, what is the drama that will fill its Friday - Saturday timeslot? The answer to that question will be....

TOMORROW WITH YOU

The first episode was already being aired yesterday, 3rd January 2017, in South Korea. So far, not many things we know about the drama since it had only started but this is my first impression of it based on its teasers. 

PLOT

This drama depicts the love story of an investment firm CEO, Yoon Soo Joon, who is also a time traveler with his bright wife, Song Ma Rin. The wealthy, attractive and charming time traveler marries his optomistic wife only within three months of their meeting. However, their marriage happens not because of love. It is only because Soo Joon foresees his future-self death along with another person. Thus, he decides to search for that other person with the hope of changing his future. The other person is..of course Ma Rin. Soo Joon believes that by marrying Ma Rin, he can avoid that miserable fate. As time pass, will they love each other for real? Will their fate change? 

Korean Celebrities' Moms Watching Their Son's Life in 'Mom's Diary - My Ugly Duckling'

Hi K Variety lovers !!

Have you ever heard of a show called 'Mom's Diary - My Ugly Duckling'. This is kind of a new show airing on SBS. It was a pilot program aired on 20/7/2016 before being picked up as a fixed program due to high rating. The first episode was aired on 26/8/2016. 

SHOW CONCEPT

The concept of this show is how well do the moms know about their sons' lifestyle. The panel in studio that consist of three hosts and four main casts' moms will watch the video recordings of their sons daily activities. Through this, the moms will discover many new sides of their sons (sometimes very shocking things 😊😊). 

HOSTS

There are three hosts for this show, Shin Dong Yup, Han Hye Jin and Seo Jang Hoon. However, Han Hye Jin had decided to left the show to accompany her husband, footballer Ki Sung Yong who plays for Swansea City A.F.C. Her replacement has yet to be decided by SBS.

Running Man Made Me Addicted To Korean Variety Shows

Hello everyone!!! This time lets talk about KVariety. I still remember when I was in high school, Winter Sonata was really popular but I was not a fan because I was staying at a boarding school and couldn't watch tv 😢😢. But, my sister was crazy about it.

My late sister was the one who introduced me to Kpop. She bought me an MP3 as a birthday present (MP3 was a big thing back at that time lol...how time flies). She put mostly Kpop songs in it..most of them are Super Junior stuffs. So, that was basically how I started to know more about Korea.

However, I truly become an avid fan of Korean shows only after I watch Running Man. Yes..the popular Running Man.

Shinhwa : Comeback not Reunion

Shinhwa-san 🍊🍊🍊!! For those that are wondering why Shinhwa Changjo always use this orange emoticon when we talk about Shinhwa, let me answer you. Because we are the Orange Princesses 😊😊😊.

Before I go further into this post, do you my beloved blog reader know who is Shinhwa?? First clue, the picture below 👇👇. Do you recognize them.

I guess by now, you must be familiar with some of the songs that I mentioned because many kpop idols junior have covered their songs especially Wild Eyes.
